This year, the Irish team welcomes a huge number of new athletes to the team. Keep an eye on this story – we will add to this list as we build the profiles of all the athletes.

We have received about 12 profiles from new athletes so far, and will be adding those here - if you haven't sent in your profile yet, see note below.

Some of the athletes mentioned below have competed previously for Ireland, but before the establishment of this site in 2007 - hence, their inclusion in this 'new' list.

Sports: Accomplished jockey. Rode a winner in the Irish National Hunt Racing Festival in Punchestown in 2002 and has ridden at Ascot and Newmarket. Rode in 9 National 3 Day Event Championships. 9th in International 3 D/E in Switzerland in 1989. Member of the team that won 3D/E National Championships in 1993.

Has trekked part of Everest, Rockies and the Andes.


Wurzburg, Germany, 2008 - Gold in Golf, Gross. 5th in Team Golf. 100m 6th. 800m Silver. 200m Bronze. 400m Bronze. 4x100m Relay, Fourth.


American Games, Pittsburgh, 2008 - 13th Golf, nett


Thailand 2007 - Bronze 400m


Hungary 2002 – Won 800m and 5000m. Bronze in Badminton.


France 2003 – Silver in Golf and 400m. 4th in 4 x 400m


Slovenia 2004 – Silver in 400m and 4 x I00m. 4th in 200m


Canada 2005 – 4th in 400m


Hungary 2006 – Silver in 400m, Bronze in 200m and 6th in relay
