Minister for Sport Martin Cullen has got behind the Irish team for this month’s 17th World Transplant Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

In a letter to team manager Colin White, Mr Cullen wrote: “The Games send out a very positive message to all transplant recipients, and people facing transplantation in the future.”
He added: “They also showcase to the wider population the true value of organ donation. I have no doubt that the team will compete in the World Transplant Games with immense pride, and will be wonderful ambassadors for Ireland.
“I hope that you will enjoy the competition, the unique experience, and the honour of representing your country. Good luck to each and every one of you and enjoy the Games.”
