We are now officially here with all the team registered! We got our ID badges, Games information packs, etc. It was all about meeting people from other countries and getting the lie of the land.... Hanging out at the Games Village today brought home the sheer size of the Games event. Athletes from all over the world kept appearing. For regulars on the team in was an opportunity to catch up with old friends from previous Games. For the new members of the team it was a chance to marvel at the size of the family they have joined! Members of our team had the opportunity to meet others, share stories and look forward to a week of great camaraderie and competition. Tomorrow (Sunday) we will have the Opening Ceremony which will involve a parade of athletes through the streets of Goteborg. After the ceremony there will be dinner in the Liseberg Theme Park and then a chance to have a go on the rides! It the morning we will see the following competitors in action: 3km Mini Marathon: Sinead McGowan Dara McLaughlin Anne Lankester 5km Mini Marathon: Tony Gartland 50m Sprint: Oisin O'Gorman Basically, it's Games on and Transplant Team Ireland are ready!
