ImageEamonn Malone (Cavan) and John ‘Bullet’ Loftus (Limerick) were this morning (Monday) the first Irish athletes into the fray at the 5th European Transplant & Dialysis Games, in Wurzburg, Germany. “We didn’t win any medals, but we were happy enough with how we played. It took us a bit of time to get going against opponents who trained very hard for Table Tennis at these Games,” said John.

“Eamonn and I have entered a solemn pact to train harder for our next foray into competitive Table Tennis.
Eamonn played a lot of Table Tennis when he was in school, and I used to play a good bit one time, so maybe the old magic is there waiting to be brought out!”

Said team manager Colin White: “I was impressed with John and Eamonn. You could see they had the shots, and I think they have potential for the future.”
