Deirdre Faul is new to biking – but it doesn’t show. Today (THURSDAY) she revealed herself to be a strong cyclist when she took two silver medals at the 5th European Transplant & Dialysis Games here in Wurzburg, Germany.
Her events were a 5km time trial and a 16k road race. “I’m very happy with how I cycled,” she said. “I have done some biking this year but it is a relatively new sport for me. I found the road race very good – the time trial was tougher, probably because it was more intense. “It was very enjoyable and I look forward to doing more racing in the future.”
Tomorrow, things will really start to heat up with the bowling and track & field events take place. Log onto www.transplantteamireland.com to follow the team’s progress. For Organ Donor Cards freetext the word DONOR to 50050 or visit the Irish Kidney Association website www.ika.ie |
