We have a pool and sauna here, and many of the athletes are planning a trip there today. Breakfast this morning was quite an extravagant affair, with dish after dish laid out in buffet fashion.

Registration took place just 200 yards away, which was a big help when arriving last night. Tonight’s opening ceremony promises to be quite an event, too. It will be held in the open air and the Irish team will be led in by a local youngster who has made a special plate with Ireland written on it.

The local committee have put in a great deal of work into the organisation of the Games. They even have a daily newspaper dedicated to the Games, and this will be delivered each to our hotel. That’s very impressive. Check it out here
