Friday evening also saw a 5km road race for supporters and officials - and there was great joy in the Irish camp when Emma McHenry won the ladies race, and Colin White finished third in the men's event.
The Irish team for the World Transplant Games has been named. The competitors will travel to Bangkok for the 16th World Transplant Games, which will run from Saturday, August 25th until Sunday, September 2nd. The team will be led by manager, Colin White.
The 33 members of Transplant Team Ireland enjoyed fantastic success at the 18th World Transplant Games in Sweden, securing a new world record in one event and picking up a massive haul of 39 medals, comprising 13 Gold, 14 Silver and 12 Bronze.
