NAME: Anne Smyth

LIVES: Baldoyle, Dublin 13

TRANSPLANT HISTORY: Anne had a liver transplant in 1993, and a second in 2002 – she also obtained a new kidney in 2002.

FIRST GAMES ON IRISH TEAM: World Transplant Games, Manchester, 1995. Won a Gold for Badminton Singles, and Bronze for 3k Walk at World Games in Sydney in 1997, and another silver medal in Canada in 2005

ABOUT ANNE: “I am married for 35 years, and have five children and two grandchildren – I would never have seen them if I did not have my transplants in 2002. Sports wise, I have played Badminton league and championships, and have been a winner on many occasions.”
