Exhausted, emotional, but deeply satisfied – the Irish team arrived home yesterday evening (SUNDAY) from their uber medal-winning exploits at the European Transplant & Dialysis Games in Wurzburg, Germany. |

 Today (SATURDAY) is the final day of events, and all eyes turn to the track and field. Throughout today, we will be updating here with details of how the Irish team are getting on. |

 An emotional homecoming is guaranteed this evening (SUNDAY) for the Irish team which collected over 40 medals at the European Transplant & Dialysis Games in Wurzburg, Germany, over the past week. |

He got up before six last Tuesday morning, plugged the tubes into his stomach for 30 minutes of dialysis, whipped them out again, grabbed his sports bag and rushed out the door – and off to the swimming pool where he coolly won four European medals. |

 Friday evening also saw a 5km road race for supporters and officials - and there was great joy in the Irish camp when Emma McHenry won the ladies race, and Colin White finished third in the men's event.

 Today was an early start as our bowlers started leaving the hotel before 7am. The weather started off damp so the track & field competitors were apprehensive. However, when it came time for the programme to begin it was as if someone turned off the rain and brought out the sun instead. We had very nice weather for the day. |

Wednesday, Day3, turned
out to be a long one and what was very pleasing was that at the end of the day,
the team was in excellent spirits. People were tired but it was that
tiredness that comes with knowing that you have really put in a great
effort.
